Responsible gambling
Nobody under 18 may open an account with any brand listed here. Money that goes into a casino balance should already be written off as the cost of an evening, and it should never come from rent, groceries, credit cards or a loan from someone who expects it back.
Warning signs rarely arrive as one dramatic moment. They look like this instead: stakes rising after a losing run, sessions that overshoot the time you set aside, deposits made straight after a loss, and a habit that has quietly dropped out of conversation at home. One of those is a bad night. Three of them together in the same fortnight is a pattern worth interrupting.
Four tools live in the settings panel of all eight ranked brands, free to use: a ceiling on deposits, a ceiling on losses, a clock that interrupts long sessions, and a temporary lock on the account. The moment to switch them on is the quiet afternoon before you fund an account, not the morning after a heavy night. Tightening one takes effect immediately. Loosening one is deliberately made to wait.

Nothing in that table costs money, nothing is reported to an operator, and a partner or parent can use any of the three without the player present. Counsellors do not ask callers to give up gambling as a condition of talking. Self-exclusion goes further than a limit: applied brand by brand, or through the national register for Australian-licensed services, it runs for a term you nominate and an operator cannot shorten.
